MY VERY FIRST ENGLISH SINGLE…
that I bought from HMV!!
I’m very surprised that HMV will actually bring in Lady Gaga’s new single “Born This Way” because from what I know, HMV stopped bringing in English singles. Probably because this song is so marvelous that even HMV cannot resist the temptation of using this maxi-single to earn more income.
I hope they bring in English singles more often though~ That way, I don’t have to buy whole albums just for a song or two…

I almost bought this single online because I had doubts that I can find it in Singapore but NO!! I found it at HMV because I saw an article on the newspaper, saying that this single will be available locally on March 14. So, when the date arrived, I called HMV to check and YES!! They have it!! Made a reservation immediately for this $9.95 goodie~ Oh yes~ If you send your receipt to Universal Music by April 30, you stand a chance to win yourself a MONSTER Turbine Earphone! Cool~
The single with the plastic shrink wrap removed… Isn’t the cover gorgeous?! Unfortunately, this single is released in a slipcase packaging and that means minimal protection for the CD. But considering the price, I think it’s fair. Anyway, I love this song because it’s all about embracing who you really are, no matter where you came from, no matter what you are~ Very inspirational! That’s why I even give a heck for this single because normally, I don’t give a damn for English singles.
The single comes with 4 tracks. The first one being the original version of the amazing song “Born This Way” and the rest of the tracks are the remixes. Honestly, I think the remixes are not my cup of tea because they are just clubbing music with occasional singing. If one of the track is an acoustic version of the song, I think this single will stay on the chart even longer!!
I was expecting a piece of paper with the lyrics but no! They had creatively made use of the space on the left when you open up the cardboard slipcase and printed the lyrics on it…
…in BOLD WHITE! Ain’t this cool?! But it’s a little hard to read though but who cares!! Take some time to read the lyrics because they are the main reason why I bought this single…

The CD is a simple, black one with the title written in its own signature font on it. Straightforward. I like!
Overall, I love this single! Could be packaged a little better though but I ain’t going to complain because it costs a quarter of what I normally pay for a Japanese single. Less than 10 bucks for a magnificent song, who cares!!

my ayumi hamasaki ayu-mi-x 8 box set will be delayed but that’s okay since they are utilizing the transportations for aid relief. As long as Japan continues to be strong, I can bear with the wait.

Yeap! I have to book in like in an hour or slightly more and I have yet to go bathe and stuff but again, I still want to rush this blog entry out because there’s too much dust collected here already! No thanks to the stupid rehearsal tomorrow morning.

So on Saturday, I went to IKEA. I don’t really recall why I went there but I know it was extremely random. Probably because we wanted to have Pizza Hut for dinner but we don’t know which outlet to go to and since it’s been ages since we went to Tampines, we went to walk around the area.
Before exploring furniture paradise, we had meatballs for “lunch”!! 8 dollars for 15 meatballs!! Is that worth it or what?

MEATBALLS!! I wonder why they serve meatballs with jam but the combination is EPIC, no? I see y’all mouthwatering monsters already. :) The meatballs are obviously really good, needless to say, but I feel that there’s something lacking from this dish. Some greens perhaps?
After having a light lunch, we walked around IKEA to explore a little. Took lots of random photos; like photos of chalk…

And of course, we had the 1 dollar hotdog too because lunch was just way too light~ I think there’s no one time where I stepped out of IKEA without having these classic dogs. Cheap and delicious! Notice the sudden blop of sauce on the sausage? I accidentally dispensed too much. :P
Saturday was a really hot day even though it’s so cloudy.
And then, we headed to Tampines 1 to walk around. Honestly, there was nothing to look at because all shopping malls in Singapore are more or less the same. Furthermore, it was really crowded~
Finally tried the Weider-IN, as advertised in Japan by ayu!! It’s a jelly-drink thingie that comes in a pack. There are a couple of flavors for this product and I tried the Vitamin version (Passion Fruit flavored jelly) because I haven’t been eating much veggies these days. Not too sweet~ Just nice!! Quick and healthy thirst quencher. It’s a pity it’s a little pricey, at $2.50 per packet ($2.70 for the chilled ones).
Walked around just to past time and when it’s finally dinner time, we headed to Tampines Mall’s Pizza Hut. Was brought to this table by the window and I was like “YES!! Good lighting!!” The photo proves it, no? :)
We had this meal where iced lemon tea is served. Unlike those extremely sweet ones you get normally, Pizza Hut served the tea plain with a cute jug of syrup so you can control the sweetness of the tea. To me, it just makes a good subject to shoot~ :)

Hawaiian Supreme Pan Pizza with 30% more cheese and stuffed cheese crust!! All the cheesy goodness! Unfortunately, I think I prefer the regular Hawaiian pizza though because the supreme version kinda have too many things on it. Sometimes, more doesn’t mean better.
Now, let’s skip to today’s lunch at Ajisen. This is the baby octopus that’s served as a side if you purchased the meal. I believe I’ve featured it before on this blog. :)

Some really spicy ramen. Good thing I didn’t have this because my throat is already half dead. That reminds me… I have to take my medicine tonight.
My vegetable ramen. The waitress calls this “a healthy choice”. :) Just had that craving for those shiitake mushrooms! They were so GOOD!! Soft and smooth and succulent!
Well yesterday while I was at Tampines 1’s Times bookstore, I saw this edition of VOGUE magazine on sale with Lady Gaga gracing the cover. I was contemplating on whether to get it or not but somehow, the conditions of the magazines back at the Times bookstore was pretty bad so I gave it a pass.
BUT!! At night, I was thinking of the magazine and I was thinking “Since I have nothing to do for the next week, might as well just get it to study the photos.” I needed something to do so I went all the way to Kinokuniya to grab a copy. Boy is it HEAVY!! Really thick and filled with gorgeous photos! That will keep me busy for awhile. :)
Oh yes!! Ann Ward, ANTM Cycle 15’s winner will be on the cover of May 2011’s VOGUE Italia’s cover! Going to get it even though the Italia edition is almost 2 times the US edition. Excited!!
Okay~ This is the fastest blog entry featuring 25 photos that I have done!! Normally, it will take me around 45 - 60 minutes to do an entry like this but cutting down on the photos and words really helped cut down the timing~
Time to go bathe and prepare to go back to the dreaded place!! I hope I can come back home early this week!

And so you know, I bought Lady Gaga’s new album (okay, I wouldn’t call that an album, it’s more like an EP).
THE FAME MONSTER!
Yeap~ Now for the pictures…
Like what they did to Rihanna’s “RATED R” album, one of the selling points of this album is the sticker which said “FREE GIANT POSTER”! Well, so if you want to earn my money if you’re a music label, be sure to put that sticker. And, make sure I even bother to listen to your music in the first place.
The 2 disc version of this EP shows no love to the people who bought the previous album and you’re basically spending a little bit more money for getting something that you already have. Okay, the only thing new in the second disc (which is the exact same thing if you’ve purchased the previous album), is that the tracklist is rearranged and there’s a new bonus song, “Retro Dance Freak”.
The poster is actually quite cool. The body language of Ms Gaga really shows her characteristic. However, I would like to see her eyes communicate without those shades (they may be you signature yes but you have to connect with your audience Gaga!). Her mouth simply associates with the word “DIVA” which I think suits her image.

The booklet inside the album. Comes with the cover of “The Fame”. Well, I would say it’s a pretty interesting concept of having 2 different sides of Fame created into 1 single album but I still can’t get over the fact about why they want to re-release her first album along with her EP. It just doesn’t make sense!
What the inside looks like (okay, at least 2 pages). I like how they did the CD; this matte finish makes it nice to the touch (though I don’t think people will buy CDs to molest them but…). I must say I like her hair in the poster! :P
This is how the CD case look like without the plastic wrapper. I really hate what Singapore music and video labels do. They like to stick stickers all over the box and not only are they ugly, they block out some of the cover art. Though I don’t really dig this cover art because of her flat looks, I see no reason why the label should cover her like this.
Plus, those PG, NC16 logos… Shouldn’t they give us a choice to tear them off? Just stick those stickers on the plastic wrapper and allow us to throw it away if we don’t like it! They are plain annoying and it cheapens the whole album’s feel.
Well, I would say this album is not exactly value for money but for the poster, I fell victim. In terms of the music, I tried listening to it just now, competing with my brother’s GTA IV and I think it’s actually quite nice~
Wallace once sent me “Bad Romance” over MSN and I thought it wasn’t captivating at first but after listening to it a few times, it actually grew on me. Just like how “Poker Face” did it’s magic. :)
So whether it’s worth it. If your country has the single CD one, definitely! If you do not have the first album and want them both, definitely! But if you’re in Singapore and you’re not a sucker for posters like me, you could probably wait. I have a feeling they might release the CD-only version some day…

While walking around during the weekends, I realized that I haven’t been to CD shops recently and I missed out on lots of new releases!
Or maybe they were only released recently and I didn’t realize…

Okay… First of all, before I start blogging, the question is:
Should I go back for Taekwondo training?
I’ve been asking this question for many many times but this morning, while brushing my teeth, I was thinking whether I should. I need reasons why I should too because my biggest concern is that I would be too tired after school and another simple fact that I’m just PLAIN LAZY~ :P
But again, I need the exercise and that little bit of training for the retarded NAPFA test. Oh well… How?
Now, the second question… Should I get these goodies? :P I have limited cash though and for the past few days, I’ve been picking them up, putting them back onto the shelf, picking them up again, and then reluctantly putting them back onto the shelf…
Because I have no money! Okay, I actually have but I’m quite unwilling to spend because I’m running low on cash.
Topping up my freaking ez-link card needs money, emergencies might need money, sometimes going out also need money…
But I haven’t been buying CDs for very long~
Besides my pre-order for ayumi hamasaki’s “You Were… / BALLAD”… But I have to wait for that to arrive!

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2

Okay… Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2~ I want this game badly because there’s Ayane from DOA inside! :P And it’s about ninjas! And it’s a pretty mindless, but FUN game! The only PS3 games that I have now are Resident Evil 5, Soul Calibur IV, LittleBigPlanet and Batman: Arkham Asylum and I want more!
But this game is EXPENSIVE! The cheapest I can find is S$60!
Rihanna : RATED R
Rihanna has a new studio album! I had no clue that it’s released so soon though~ I read that the reviews are quite good because it features the darker side of Rihanna (YES!). I want some dark songs in my collection~ Rihanna has strong vocals but the only memorable song to me that she’s done is “Disturbia” and “Unfaithful” only… That’s why I haven’t bought the CD.
Maybe I should skip the Unreal class to get the CD~ :P It’s very tempting! COMES WITH A GIANT POSTER TOO!
Britney Spears : THE SINGLES COLLECTION
Britney has another compilation CD~ It’s almost like ayumi’s A COMPLETE ~ALL SINGLES~ just that a smaller scale one. The one I’m aiming for is the CD+DVD version because I don’t have any of Britney’s music videos~
What makes this album less attractive is the fact that out of so many songs, the only song that I don’t have is her latest single “3”. It’s quite catchy but not as good as her older songs and furthermore, I’m buying the whole album JUST for that song~
It’s not my fault, Britney, that I bought your previous albums. But why punish me like this~
So if I don’t buy the CD+DVD version, then I would be wasting money on a WHOLE album JUST for 1 SONG!
LADY GAGA : THE FAME MONSTER
Apparently, when I saw this album, I thought it was a re-release. But when I checked the internet just now, it’s apparently a new album. Okay, I think I would call it a “mini-album” because there are only 8 songs on this album. Plus, it features “THE FAME”, which makes it technically a re-release album with an EP attached.
The theme, from what the internet said, is that this album portrays the dark side of “Fame”. YES! Another dark album! See the resemblance between Lady Gaga’s album and Rihanna’s album? Or is it a trend nowadays to take black/white pictures? Hmmm…
I believe it comes with a GIANT POSTER too!
Taylor Swift : FEARLESS PLATINUM EDITION
Okay. This is officially a re-release album, featuring some new songs by Taylor Swift. Considering that I did not get the regular “FEARLESS” album, this is considered quite good a deal~ But I already have her album in my iPod, ripped from Rini’s copy of the album but I do want a physical CD on my shelf. :P
What’s so special about this one? Hmmm… The new songs? The videos? I don’t know actually. All I know is that it comes with post cards which I will hardly use. No giant poster to accompany? Sad~ But if I have the extra cash, I would probably get this one too~ :P
This makes me think, “Good thing Japanese artists don’t come up with re-release albums. Otherwise I have no idea how many more CDs I will have to buy!”
Namie Amuro : Past < Future
Perhaps one of the nicest name in recent history for an album that I’ve seen. Namie Amuro is releasing a new album on December 17 (if I didn’t get the date wrong…)! Heard some of the songs on YouTube a few days back and there’s actually a ballad! Nice nice! Sounds promising~
I’m definitely getting this one! I love her cover art (with her tearing a picture of her BEST FICTION picture up) and the track list is not bad. Though it only features one of her single “WILD / Dr.” (that single is not fantastic also so… :D), I think her album tracks should be good.
And at least Vera will agree on my music taste for awhile. :)
Okay~ End of my wishlist~ Maybe I should create a wishlist on my sidebar. But I don’t want people to buy me stuff~ No no no~ I want to buy my CDs myself. That’s the joy of it! :)
Unless it’s for Christmas or my birthday, preferably my birthday.
Well, looks like I will be skipping class after all. :) Going to go “shopping” at Jurong Point. Well well, who knows I might just get one of the above later! :P
