Southern Ridges, again + Fig & Olive
Before I start…

A FIERCE PICTURE OF ME!! :P
Okay~ That was totally shameless but I can’t help but say I love this shot! Yes it’s digitally enhanced and cropped and looks extremely similar to the concept I used for Laura’s photo shoot (http://broylim.wordpress.com/2010/12/31/its-time/) but you can’t deny that it’s good okay!
Now I have a new facebook and Twitter profile photo!! WOO HOO!!
Back to the sane world. Anyway, I went to collect my hard disk today at that isolated place somewhere 7 bus stops away from Harbourfront MRT station. Somehow, I have a phobia of my hard disk now and I dare not put anything important inside, fearing that it might die on me.
So maybe, I shall just wait till I buy my 1TB external hard disk that hopefully is sturdy enough so I can back-back-up my stuff.
Since the collection place is so near HortPark, I decided to go there again in hopes of taking pictures.
Yes. I took a picture.

IT WAS BLOODY HELL RAINING!!
So much for going to HortPark! I had plans of going to the butterfly garden to take pictures of those critters but it just had to rain. It didn’t just rain! It was literally CAT 1; the thunder and lightning and suckers running without umbrellas in the rain (luckily, I’m not one of them).
Had to sit under shelter to rest my soaked feet and while waiting for the rain to subside (which it didn’t actually), I ate candies. Healthy eh?

I didn’t go alone, of course. That would be boring. Walked from HortPark to the Forest Walk thingie (remember those metal catwalk?) to the Henderson Waves. By then, the rain had more or less stopped. Walking on the metal catwalk in the rain is pretty thrilling because there were no one around. Feels as though you’re the only one in the forest. We used umbrellas but eventually, gave up because the path was so narrow.

Hand against the sun. Cliche shot. :P

If you’re getting married soon or eventually, you may want to go to Henderson Waves to get your wedding photo shot. In fact, there are already many couples who did that. But please don’t go during a rainy weather like today. I saw this couple doing their photo shoot and shot this picture with the photographer (who is very enthu, by the way, constantly asking the models to pose in different ways) and the bride is constantly holding her skirt up.

This two Caucasian people just got married 3 weeks ago! Congratulations strangers! They were looking at the Chinese couple getting their photos taken and they joined in the fun, taking pictures of them as well. Fun people.

After walking through the bridge, we went down a flight of stairs to this bus stop where we took the bus back to Harbourfront. Actually, we took a chance because we had no idea what buses but in Singapore, all buses go somewhere right? And from somewhere, there’s definitely a way out. :)

Walked around Vivocity for awhile before having dinner at Fig & Olive. I think basically, they put figs and olives in all of their food. We saw this $19.90 set meal which includes your main, a drink and ICE CREAM!! The ice-cream really attracted us~

The drinks are served in these generous big glasses!

Well… I can’t remember the names of the dishes but I know this is a chicken dish topped with this spicy sauce and accompanied with briyani rice and salad. I like the chicken~ It’s tender and the taste of the sauce lingers in your mouth for awhile. And yes~ They weren’t joking about the olives.

I should have said “medium-well” when the waitress asked me how I wanted my steak to be because the well-done one was tough like hell! I think I lost more calories from all the chewing actions than eating it (how I wish this is true~). Nonetheless, this steak is topped with the obvious olives and served with 2 small potatoes. There is no sauce for this steak but it’s still yummy~

The potato is a little bit too small and pathetic though. I think the Jack’s Place’s baked potato is still the best; big, creamy and bacon-y!!
And there was the ice-cream, which I forgot to take pictures of but it’s no big loss because it’s just a scoop of regular chocolate ice-cream. After dinner, I went to get more kitty litter for naughty cat and went home. Stupid kitty litters are so freakin’ heavy!

Weeee~~ Another photography magazine. I think this magazine is pretty good for Canon users because it teaches a lot of interesting stuff as well as tips on how to take a certain genre of photographs. This issue give tips on how to take pictures of food!! Honestly, I think I’m really uninspired when I take pictures of food so I hope to learn something. Comes with a passport holder!!
FREEBIES ROCK!
