Korn - Thoughtless & new earphones!!
I’m home!! Actually, I had feelings that I would be home today anyway but it was really a close shave because I was THIS close to staying back in camp due to some things that are honestly none of my concern. But I’m out now!! *dance around madly*
So this afternoon, when we got the news that we can get the hell out of camp, me and my camp mates flee-ed the scene as soon as we could so that no one had any reasons to hold us back. When all was safe, we went SHOPPING!!
The feeling of going shopping on a weekday rocks because there’s no crowd to compete with, except on the train but that’s not that bad. I’ve finally bought meself (sic) a new pair of earphones!! Yeahness~
But before that… CD~~
Korn’s single Thoughtless arrived in the mail today! That’s why I like to buy CDs from this particular person from eBay. She’s based in Singapore and therefore, “shipping” is really fast. Normally, if you place orders the on day 1, you can expect your mail to arrive latest day 4.
Anyway, I shall help her promote. Visit her eBay store at http://stores.ebay.com.sg/cdloverssg. You’ll surprised that she has lots of good music on sale at really reasonable prices! That includes singles, which are normally quite difficult to find in Singapore! I’ve been patronizing her store since I don’t know… Years ago?
Anyway, back to Thoughtless. It’s a single released by Rock band Korn back in 2002. I just had this urge to listen to the song when I heard Evanescence’s cover and I managed to find this single for sale at this eBay store and without even considering, I got it! It costs only S$5.90~ Local shipping is free!

Well here’s the part that I want to complain about. It says “Parental Advisory. Explicit Content”. Well, they should REMOVE THIS STICKER because they bloody hell censored so many parts of the songs and you know I’m so against censorship! If you had already placed the sticker there, then people will expect the songs to contain profanities and stuff but NO!! They censored the song until parts of it doesn’t make sense.
So, you can’t blame me for actually downloading the song online. I know! I’m being a big, fat PIRATE but eh eh~ I got the single okay~ I put the whole original, censored crap into my iPod along with the uncensored, downloaded one in too. The reason why I want this single is because of the song is FIERCE! Censoring just makes it a cowardly song. Shame on censorship!!

And this single comes with this form that praises your good taste for music. YES!! But I don’t appreciate censorship, thank you very much!
Well, that’s basically all for this single. Rather disappointed but oh well~ It’s cheap so it doesn’t really matter right?

TA DA!! My new earphones; the t-JAYS Three~ I like these earphones because they are really simple and black and of course, the sound quality rocks!! Space Alien agrees~~ But these pair ain’t cheap though, cost me $168 but I think it’s worth it considering that it comes packed with lots of accessories and a 2 years warranty on top of the marvelous sound.
Well… Here’s basically what you’ll expect from this pair of earphones. I got these from a store on the fourth storey of The Adelphi called Jaben. The Adelphi is the building just opposite Funan IT Mall so there’s no way you’ll miss it.
Now, more about Jaben (http://jaben.net/) before I continue. They are basically a store that specializes in sound equipments and that goes to say that earphones are part of their expertises.
But what I like about this store is that they allow you test EVERY SINGLE ITEM before you buy it! They have a whole collection of top notch earphones on sale and you can test the test set before deciding.
To test, you just have to request for a particular earphone that you want and they will fetch it for you. But what I did was to just give my budget and my expectations and they will make the recommendations. Professional, no?
And when testing, do bring your own music player so you know what you’re looking out for. Testing wasn’t awkward because we were seated at a table and we had all the time we wanted before the shop closes on us to test.
Furthermore, the staff are friendly and extremely patient. My camp mates and I asked for over 7 pairs of earphones to test and they were kind to entertain our requests and were there to answer our questions.
The pricing is reasonable as well and they are willing to throw in free gifts or discounts if they are happy. Yes, it’s that random in my opinion. I will definitely recommend this store to my friends!! :)
Back to the earphones…
Space Alien has no clue what these specifications are trying to say and neither do I. That’s why testing the earphones are so important besides researching what you want to buy. Prior to getting this pair, I researched for reviews and found the reviews quite promising and it is!
I’m a sucker for packaging and I must say that the Jays earphones are well-packaged but well-packaged doesn’t mean easy to open. I had a hard time trying to figure out how to open this casing because I peeled the instructions to pieces (it’s a sticker). See this hole? You have to use something to poke it so you can push the base out to reveal what’s inside…
You’ll see the user manual (as if you really need one though) and a semi-circle thingie which actually stores most of the wires of the package.
Okay. Take away the almost insignificant user manual and you’ll see all the accessories inside. See! Isn’t this worth the money when you get ear buds of all sizes ranging from L - XXS? I realized my ears are XS-sized. What’s yours? The M size is big enough to pry my ears apart. After testing some earphones in the store, I think my ear hole got bigger. -_-“
Anyway, this pair of earphones comes with the ear buds, the earphones itself (sleek and sexy and all~), splitter (in case you want to share your music as opposed to blasting it in public like ah bengs/ah lians), a flight adaptor (that’s cool, no? Using your own earphones in the airplane!!) and a round casing. Worth it right? I just need to justify my purchase so shut up~ :P
This is the most magical thing I’ve seen in recent history. While testing our the earphones today, a staff told me to test out using these amplifiers and I was skeptical at first because I had no clue what these were in the first place but when I used them…
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That feeling feels as though I’ve ate the nicest chocolate cake on earth! If you think your earphones are producing good enough sound, this will make it better! And the difference is pretty huge~ And yes~ I’m not sensitive to good sound and bad sound and I can tell the difference so this box (I’ve been referring to it as the box) really does magic!
You can only hear it for yourself to know exactly what I’m talking about~
And when you get this amplifier from the store, you get a discount if you purchase a headphone/earphone and I think it’s so worth it. Though it may be slightly inconvenient to bring around when you go out, I think the quality boost really justifies the purchase.
Woooo~ Happy with my “steal” today even though I’ve spent so much. Sometimes, it’s good to pamper yourself once in every while, no? :) Besides, living on this planet means you should make the fullest out of it and enjoy life, no? :)
