Katy Perry - Teenage Dream / P!NK - The Album Collection
And instead of buying my Chinese New Year clothes, I bought more CDs!! To me, music is more important to me than clothes because it’s not as though I don’t have anything to wear~ So heck about that!! I rather photograph people wearing clothes than be the one buying…
But anyway~ CDs CDs!!
First up, Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream. Honestly, I don’t really like the album art because the title is hard to read with the white/red combination. Furthermore, it looks a bit hoochie (if you get what I mean). The only reason why I bought this album is because I want the song “Firework”…
Yeap. This album contains the hit singles as mentioned in the picture above. I think “Peacock” is an annoying song but oh well… “Firework” makes the album worth the buy, considering that in Singapore, it’s impossible to find the physical single.
The track list in that similarly annoying font. Sorry to the Katy Perry fans out there for being so critical on the art direction but I really cannot stand it! I know it’s meant to be sweet but it’s WAY TOO SWEET for my liking. But hey~ Don’t be hatin’ on me because I support her album by getting the original copy okay~~
At least the inside is not as annoying as the outside. The CD’s design works for me because it’s not words and it actually looks tasty. The photos inside are also interesting.
Unfortunately, it’s candy canes all over again inside the lyrics booklet. Probably because it’s all red and words but I feel that the border is a bit too much? What do you think? At least there are lyrics…

And and and~~ Now for the catch of the day which I got for ONLY S$32.95, around US$26.
P!NK THE ALBUM COLLECTION!! And to think that she had just recently released a new compilation album (see my post on her Greatest Hits… So Far!! here)! That’s not to say that you shouldn’t get her latest compilation album because it features 3 new tracks, like “Raise Your Glass” which is an EXCELLENT song~
Why should you buy this box set then? Other than collecting her discography, these albums contain hidden tracks (which I just realized while ripping the discs only to realize there are extra untitled tracks at the end of the album) as well as remixes and bonus tracks that are pretty rare to find. Furthermore, for such a low price, you get FIVE albums!! Simple calculations mean I saved about S$70!!
And and~ The box is pretty!! Plus plus~ It’s P!NK!!!! Isn’t that good enough reasons to get this box set? Good music doesn’t come at big price tags so don’t be a pirate/cheapo, support the originals!!

The back of the box is printed with the track list of all the albums for your reference. While ripping the albums to my laptop, I was confused because the track lists did not telly but I realized that it’s because of the hidden tracks. -_-” Did I mention that some of the albums, when you run it from the laptop, features contents like interviews and stuff? Cool stuff~
Let’s go through each album shall we? First of all, Can’t Take Me Home. She looks like a man here though… :|

Considering that this album was originally released in 2000, the style is very erm… Classic?
Lots of recycled looking photos used throughout the lyrics insert which, sadly, has no lyrics.
Second album… Let me try spelling it… M!ssundaztood… Did I get it right?
The back of the album. Initially, I thought those pinkish words at the top are the title of the tracks but no~ They are just numbers spelled out!! Confused me…
The pinkish words here are more obvious and yes, they are numbers. Why would they want to spell the numbers out and make them more prominent than the track list? It will take the human’s brain a few more seconds to process, no? Sometimes, less is best, don’t you think?
At least this time, there are lyrics… just that I’m not really liking how the words are clustered in this mess. But anyway, nowadays, if I need lyrics of a song, I would probably search it on the internet anyway.

You know, sometimes I wonder if Milla Jovovich and P!NK is anyhow related because their voice sounds similar (that raw voice) and they can both model! Well, Milla’s a model by default so that’s natural but P!NK can take decent photos too.
Alecia Beth Moore’s fourth album; I’m Not Dead.
I think the album has some of her best songs like “U+Ur Hand” and “Dear Mr. President” but the rest are equally good too.

Why can’t the English artistes learn from the Japanese artistes when it comes to laying out their lyrics because clustering them together just won’t work! Might as well don’t put it at all (and let me complain about the absence of lyrics) if people can’t even read them properly. Oh well~ Good thing I’m paying primarily for the music, not the bad prints.
And finally, FUNHOUSEs!! Prior to getting this box set, I already had her Funhouse album and I really like it very much and that’s why, I started listening to her past songs~ Now I have 2 of these kick ass albums!
Well, the back basically looks the same.
BUT BUT look closely now~ The one on the left is the one I bought a couple of years ago and the one on the right is what came along in the box set. The one which came in the box set features one additional track, “Boring”! Well~ At least I don’t have 2 exact identicals~ The one from the box set also features a “So What“‘s music video which is accessible from your computer.
Pretty pretty.
The issue with the messy lyrics persist… But the pictures are nice! :)
Anyway, that’s all I have for today! I shall go entertain myself with some music music!! :)
